Summer Two

Our Wonderful World

In English, we will be writing a variety of genres based on the book ‘The Lost Wolf’ including poetry, descriptive writing and persuasive speech. This also focuses on endangered animals and conservation.

In maths we will be focusing on measurement. We will be studying length, height, mass, capacity and temperature. We will also be looking at position and direction. We will be looking at statistics which includes making tally charts, block diagrams and pictograms.

In science, we will be looking at habitats and how animals adapt to their living environment. This includes an exciting visit to the Butterfly House!

In geography, we will be continuing our focus on Africa and focusing on homes and schools in a Kenyan village and how this compares to life in Mansfield Woodhouse. We will be using clay within Art to sculpt African artefacts and looking at sketching techniques to sketch detailed masks.

In computing, we will be continuing to use the laptops for word processing and learning how to change the size, font and colour of text.

In RSE, we will be looking at how to cope with change and how our bodies and needs change as we get older.

In RE, we will be continuing our topic of belonging. We will be visiting a church and studying baptisms.

In PE, we will be focusing on athletics and getting ourselves sports day ready!
