Our topic this term is:

Animals, Animals, Animals!

We are really excited to be learning about animals. We will be looking at herbivores, carnivores and omnivores and classifying animals into reptiles, amphibians, fish, birds and mammals! Please see our knowledge organisers for the key facts and skills we will be studying.

Writing

In English, we will be studying and reading about animals such as There’s a Tiger in the Garden and researching lots of animal facts. We will be creating story maps, retelling the stories, creating character descriptions and writing up non chronological reports to show our knowledge and understanding about our topic, along with blossoming writing skills.

Maths

In maths we will be studying multiplication and division, fractions, place value to 100, money and time. Remember to keep practising your place value and addition skills on numbots!

Secret Agent Training

The Year 2 children are currently preparing and practising to become secret agents.

They will be undertaking 4 secret agent missions, two reading missions and two maths missions.

The children have been doing lots of work in class to prepare themselves for these missions.

They have been focusing on answering retrieval and inference questions in reading and a solving range of maths problems.

We can't wait to graduate spy school!
