SEND Remote Learning

We recognise that some pupils, for example some pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), may not be able to access remote education without support from adults at home. We acknowledge the difficulties this may place on families, and we will work with parents and carers to support those pupils in the following ways:
At Nettleworth we want to offer all of our families as much support as possible in ensuring all of our children have guidance and provision that they can access. We believe a personal, needs based approach which is tailored to suit the individual families works best for our school. The class teachers will have been in contact with the child’s parents/carers and had a discussion with them to ensure the school is doing all that we can for that child. Each child’s needs may differ and we will endeavor to cater for these as best we can.

Some children are attending school for part/all of the week so that they can access learning in school. We can also supply paper copies of the home learning packs for those learning from home, these may include additional resources if needed and where necessary.

The class teachers will be having regular communication with the parents/carers depending on the needs of the child and the THRIVE action plans can be shared with the parents/carers if they feel it would be beneficial for them at home.

Below are also some additional links for websites that provide really useful resources and ideas for children who have special educational needs or disability which may be beneficial.

If a parent/carer needs any additional support we encourage them to contact the child’s class teacher via phone call, the child’s year group email or on Evidence Me and we will try to support and help them in any way we can.
