Covid-19 Rapid Flow Testing for Mansfield and Bassetlaw

Rapid Flow Testing for people without coronavirus symptoms is now available for people who live and work in the Mansfield or Bassetlaw areas of Nottinghamshire.

1 in 3 people who have Covid-19 don’t have symptoms. That is why it is important that we all get tested regularly, to keep our communities safe and to reduce the spread of the virus.

Community testing is especially important if you work in the community, or if you have a job that doesn’t allow you to work from home.

The test is a lateral flow antigen test that detects the presence or absence of the coronavirus – so you should have a result within 30 minutes of taking a swab. You don’t need to register to take a test – you just turn up. Please wear a face covering at the test centre, follow social distancing, and take a smart phone with you if you have one, to register for the test and to receive your result.

You can find out more about community testing, opening times and FAQs at www.mansfield.gov.uk/coronavirus/communitytesting or www.bassetlaw.gov.uk/coronavirus-covid-19/community-testing

If you don’t have a smartphone

If you don't have a smartphone, you'll be asked to stay at the site until the result comes through. This usually takes around 30 minutes. If the result is negative, it means Covid-19 was not detected on the day. If you and your household do not have any symptoms of coronavirus, you can continue to carry on with your usual daily activities.

If the result is positive you and your household will need to begin isolating for 10 days immediately.

Community testing is only for people without symptoms of COVID-19. If you have a temperature, continuous cough or have lost your sense of taste or smell, you must get a PCR test at a centre near to you. You can book a test online or call 119.

Please encourage your work colleagues and families who have children attending school to support the community testing programme.
