Remote Learning Expectations at Nettleworth

The guidance we have received regarding remote learning clearly states that Primary schools must ‘provide an average of three hours a day’ of learning. Parents/carers are not expected to replicate the full hours of a school day at home. Remember that school also have playtimes and lunchtimes, so at home the children will need down-time to play and to take regular breaks from learning.

To support you we provide each week on our school a weekly learning planner and welcome video will be available for the children to watch of the child’s class teacher/TA or both, this video will be available on the child’s class named remote learning page only during a national lockdown.

Once the parent/carer has logged onto the relevant class remote learning page, work will be set by the class teacher on a remote learning weekly planner, this planner will directly mirror the learning taking place in school. The remote learning weekly planner will always be available on the child’s class page by the Friday evening of the previous week where possible.

The leaf tabs the parents/carers will see are used to access the weekly remote learning planner and any resources, links, videos and activities linked to the planner that week by clicking on the relevant subject tabs.

The children should complete the work on the weekly planner and submit it via Evidence Me or the child’s year group email and will be marked and commented on by the child’s class teacher or TA.

There is an expectation that families will complete a blended learning agreement this will include parents sending school comments, photographs and/or videos on parent share through the evidence me app and accepting phone calls from school, which will either be from the school number of an unknown number (teacher’s own phone with withheld number). Teachers will not be expected to contact parents over the school holiday, before 9.00am and after 4pm, during weekends unless it is a matter of urgency and is agreed with the Head Teacher.
