Our PE day is Thursday. Please send your child in their PE kit on this day.

Our topic this term is:

Summer Term 1- Traditional Tales

This half term we will be learning all about Traditional Tales including The Three Little Pigs and The Gingerbread Man plus many more. We will be learning about materials and using props and materials to act out the stories. Also we will be looking at the different changes in our lifetime and sequencing significant events and identify some features of personal significance.

Each day our class participate in Plan Do Review. In the plan-do review process, children make plans, carry them out, and reflect on what they have done. In doing so, children learn to take initiative, solve problems, self-regulate, and accomplish their goals - their play becomes more purposeful and focused.

Over the term we will be covering all of the seven Foundation Stage Areas of learning.

In English we are looking at the stories The Three Little Pigs and The Gingerbread Man.

We will be using talk for writing to learn the stories, creating our own story maps and then re-writing them. We will also be writing short sentences about the characters and stories and writing our own version of The Gingerbread Man.

In maths we will follow the White Rose Hub planning where we will be focusing on the themes To 20 and Beyond and First, Then and Now. Within these themes we will building and counting numbers and patterns beyond 10, matching, rotating and manipulating objects and shapes and adding and taking away numbers.

The children will be beginning to express their own opinions and articulate their own thoughts and ideas.

We are also following the Nottinghamshire Nursery Rhyme Progression and will be learning a new Nursery Rhyme each week.

The children will be identifying features of personal significance and start to talk about the passage of time in relation to changes. They will also be sequencing events and using technology such as remote control cars. In RE we will be learning different Jesus Stories.
